A simple but lovely lunch @ dr. CAFE...

My neighbour, Tommy called me in the afternoon to ask me out for lunch as he was running some errands nearby my place. We went to Solaris@Mont Kiara for a simple lunch at this lovely cafe - dr. CAFE.

dr. CAFE is one of those cafes similar to Starbucks or Coffee Beans but dr. CAFE is originated from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is quite popular in the Middle East. There is only one outlet in Peninsular Malaysia and they have quite a strong presence in East Malaysia.

I had a chicken sandwich - Chicken Fajita Panini and Cookies Frappe

I like the bread, soft and light with very nice texture.

While eating, we saw 2 persons came in looking for a place to sit. Initially they didn't want to sit at the sofa next to us as I guess they are looking for a place with more privacy....hahaha. They have no choice as that is the only sofa available or they have to sit outside...hehehe. They sat down and started their conversation. We overheard that they were asking each other things like... "Where are you staying?"... "Where do you work?"... So I guess this must be a first-time-meeting thingy...hehehe.... so sweet like dat...hehehehehe

OK... now should I go gymmmmmm??? I have not been going to gym for a week already leh...

Yesterday...

Yesterday was one of those not so pleasant days for me... Went back to my parents' house early in the morning helping my sis to settle with the problem of a car accident she had a day before. Spent the whole morning until late afternoon making police report etc etc...

After all those things... came home and Joe came to have dinner with me in the evening. We went to Jalan Ipoh for a simple dinner. Upon reaching my place after dinner, I saw all my neighbours gathering at the lobby - some wearing pyjamas and some just came back from work. The fire alarm was non stop ringing...

I found out from my neighbours that the fire alarm was activated. Everybody thought there was a fire and so everybody came down to find out that it was a false alarm. Something tripped and activated the fire alarm. Once the fire alarm is activated, automatically the lifts will stop working. As the lifts are not working, people just came back are all stuck at the lobby. We waited for a while for the lift technician to come and reset the system to have the lifts functioning. After waited for about 20 mins and the guards confirmed that it wasn't a fire, we decided to climb up the staircase with other neighbours instead of waiting for the lift technician. Climbed 18 floors but is ok la... since I didn't go to gym yesterday...hehehe

When I was downstairs and got to know the fire alarm was activated, immediately it came across my mind things like "I forgot to turn off the stove ah..." hehehehehe... but on a second thought... it can't be coz I am not using a gas stove and I always make sure that I set the timer when boiling water.

Someone so forgetful like me is extremely dangerous to use a gas cooker... thinking of the consequences of forgeting to turn off a gas stove shivers me. Because of this, I chose not to use a gas stove but an electronic vitroceramic cooker instead.

That's why this kind of vitroceramic cooker, complete with timer and auto shut-off and auto power-off functions is a safer choice for myself. If not, having to remember to turn off the gas stove everytime I boil water etc etc is just tooooooo stressful for me....hehehe

Ok... today will be another beautiful day. Have a nice day everyone!

Cuti~Cuti Tanjung Sepat 17 Oct 2009

Tanjung Sepat is a town located in Kuala Langat, Selangor - about 2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. Actually I have never heard of this place before until Joe told me that this place is well known for its fresh seafood and glorious sunsets.

Yesterday we took a ride to Tanjung Sepat via Klang for a short day trip. Since we are passing by Klang, we decided to stop there for bak kut teh. Joe brought me to this lovely BKT place where they have both the 'dry' and 'wet' version of BKT.

The dry version BKT...I just love the intestine sooooo much...hehehehehe...

The wet version BKT

I find this BKT is really good...

After lunch... Joe brought me to his Klang house in Bandar Botanic. This place has a HUGE Bukit Tinggi Mall... with big big Jusco etc etc and even got big big Harvey Norman there...hehehehehe

It is actually quite easy to go to Tanjung Sepat, just drive from KL - Klang - Banting - Morib - Tanjung Sepat

Since we went to Klang for BKT and then went kepoh in Bandar Botanic... we reached Tanjung Sepat around 4.30pm...hahaha. Just nice for tea! We went to this famous pork pau place, had some paus and the famous kedondong with sour plum juice...

The kedondong with sour plum juice was nice and refreshing... but the pau I find it so so only... rather expensive for a small town standard... famous already is like dat lar...

After we had some paus, we drove to the dragon fruits farm to jalan jalan a bit...

After buying some fresh dragon fruits, we went to the the mushroom farm to view the sunset. We were a bit early for sunset, so we went jalan jalan a bit in the mushroom farm and bought some fresh white oyster mushroom...

Sunset views:

Ok... I better go to sleep now... will continue with more pics tomorrow.

I keep diced cubes of pineapple in the frezeer and let them frozen. When I feel like making this, juz chuck a few cubes into the blender, add a cup of yoghurt and some fresh milk... and blend everything into smoothie... so so so simple

Frozen pineapple can also be replaced wid frozen berries like strawberries, blueberries or mixed berries...

Thanks to my dear fren cum neighbour... Tommy for sharing this recipe....hehehe.

California Fitness@Lot10 Rooftop...

Today went for an early meeting at client's office...then after that got nothing to do, so I came to visit the Cali new club @ Lot 10 Rooftop.

There is no sign or watsoever telling you how to get there... but they have a marketing booth downstairs...so I asked one of those guys how to go up. The guy told me to take the lift to 7th Floor and use the escalator to go up.

Actually is not so simple... or maybe I am dumb...hahaha...but so many people were lost...including some Cali staff...hahahaha... ...gagagagaga. Actually you have to take the lift (the one on your right from the Lot10 main entrance) to 7th Floor. When you reach 7th Floor... dun worry...coz you will feel like you are going into some construction site office...hahaha. Juz turn right and you will see a door opening to the car park. Juz look at your right to look for the "Autopay Station". Go towards the autopay station and there is an escalator leading you up to the rooftop!

The gym is ok la... quite nice but so hidden. I guess if I am parking at Lot 10, can juz park at the Rooftop next to the Cali entrance...hehehehehe

Cali memberssssss... enjoy!!!!!

My condo unit comes with two car park lots... since I only use one and the other one is always occupied by some people who are lazy to park at their own lot coz mine is more convenient for them... so I decided to rent it out...haha.

I sent an email to the condo blog moderator to get him to post an advert for me...haha. He is nice enough to help me post it immediately eventhough he was attending a conference in Manila... On the very same day, someone called me enquiring about it and after telling him about the rental blah blah blah... he is interested and ask me to meet up so he can pay me the rental and I can pass him the access card...haha

Juz now I went to meet him to pass him the access card...and he is such a cuteeeeeeee decent guy...so so so cute leh... Can't sleep liao...hahaha...

Arrrrghhhhhhh... so scary...

There was a torrential downpour in KL with loud thunder and lightning...

I was taking a shower in my bathroom with the sliding door at my balcony left open. When I came out to the living hall after my shower, I was stunned seeing my living hall is all flooded... I nearly got blown away by the heavy wind while closing the sliding door... and so scared that the lightning will strike me like striking the merlion...

Haizzzzzzz... got to mop mop the floor... :(

I love homemade Yee Sang...hahaha

This year I have been making a lot of Yee Sang at home...hahaha. Nothing much to do, biz is slow, so need to make Yee Sang to lou hei and lou hei...hehehe. It all started when my mum's fren told her how easy it is to make yee sang and where to buy those ingredients (e.g preserved melon, ginger, onions...etc etc and the most important is the sauce).

We can add other things to our preference. I like those raw salad so I add a lot a lot of shredded crystal pear, pineapple, cucumber, carrot, red & green apples, ginger, turnip etc etc... Those preserved ones I just add in a bit a bit for the flavour.

Add some fried sesame, grounded peanuts, some extra virgin olive oil and a dash of lime juice and pepper. You can add those crackers (pop pop) as much as you like... hehehe.

I dun add in raw fish but substitute with jelly fish & salmon fish roe...hehe. It taste nice...

When everything is added in, it came out to be Yee Sang 3 times of the size of a standard portion we usually have in the restaurant. I might make another round on Chap Goh Meh... hehehe

Happy Chap Goh Meh!!!

Another wonderful weekend with family and frens...

Woke up a bit early today and did some cleaning...hehe. Then sis came wid my parents and aunty to pick me up for lunch. It has been quite some time we did not have buffet together...We went to Tenji@Solaris for their buffet lunch.

I juz love their Japanese Garden... hehe. Tables inside were all taken, so we have to sit at one of those tables at the garden...It is overlooking my apartment... so is a bit sienzzz lor...haha

OK... pics of food here... hehe

Various type of Sushi

And... the sienzzzz thing about this kind of buffet is to get all these steam/fried/teppanyaki seafood/chicken/beef etc etc.... You need to place the numbered clips available on the table into the respective bowl and wait for them to cook and deliver to your table...

Then the raw section got all these shashimi thing...

The oyster is HUGE!!!!! But.... I dun fancy oyster...hehehe

I love the mud crab in Marmite sauce ... but I dunno why they don't serve softshell crab...??? Isn't it COMPULSORY???...hehehe

And.... I can't find miso soup oso...haha. They have all those chinese herbal soup...haha. This cordyceps chicken soup is quite nice...

The dessert section has all these cakes, puddings, mochi, cookies etc etc...

They oso serve Haagan Daz ice cream... yummy!!!

and... sweet fragrant coconut... all free flow!

I heard from a fren that coconut juice can cause ED... so guys, be CAREFUL... dun drink too much...hehehe

We spent approximately 2 hours there... All in all, it was quite good but not as good as Jogoya... hehehe.

After lunch, sis dropped me back at my place, took a shower and did some paperwork while waiting for [info]seaweeds  to come and fetch me for another round of outing to Kuala Selangor...hehehe

He came around 4.30pm wid [info]mikeyguy78  and his pudding. Then off we go heading to K. Selangor. Upon reaching the K. Selangor town, I made a mistake and directed him to a wrong turn...heheheee... and we accidentally took a terror ride up to Bukit Melawati...hahaha. Bukit Melawati is quite a famous historical place in K. Selangor...

This is the terror ride we went on...hahaha

Looking at these faces... you might have some idea wat I mean by terror ride...haha

The scenery going up was breathtaking...

Saw sooooo many baboons at the peak....

I thought the main attaraction there is this historical fire cannon.... why ppl only busy wid those baboons leh????...hehehehehe

This pic seeing [info]seaweeds & his pudding running away...haha. U know why??? Coz those baboons will grab anything that looks like peanuts...hehehehehe... they dun want to take the risk...hehehehehe

On the way going down... the terror ride oso brought us to this Akuarium Ikan Air Tawar... is like buy one free one deal...hehehe...

I like the garden there... natural and green....

After this stop, went back to the station, got into seaweeds' car and off we go to look for the seafood restaurant where I had seafood last week. Another mistake turn I made brought us to where we bought some very nice heong peh... hehehe

Then we found the restaurant at the other end... hehehe....

We ordered the same fish I had last week, lala and a new dish that I hv not tried...

And... of coz seaweeds has to conduct the soup pouring ceremony....hehehehe...

A new dish that we hv tried... Fried chicken wings stuffed wid ham, crabmeat and salted egg yolk... is yummy...

After dinner, went to a nearby fireflies sighting place... called Kelip-Kelip Bukit Belimbing...

We were not allowed to capture photos during the entire journey... so no pics lorrrrr...

There is a tree before the jetty which oso has some fireflies hovering around it... but is was too dark and the fireflies are too tiny for our cam to capture anything.

Then saw this lonely firefly by the grass blinking blinking...hehehe. So I snap a pic and turned out to be like this:

Can see the firefly?

Wat a wonderful Sunday! Great food, lovely peoplessssssss and interesting places...

Thanks all for this wonderful trip... :)

Wonderful Sat Evening in Kuala Selangor

Kuala Selangor is a small town in Selangor located southeast of KL at the river mouth of the Selangor River. Driving there from KL takes approximately 1 hour. The kelip-kelip (fireflies) is the biggest attraction at Kuala Selangor...

Had a wonderful saturday evening spent with Sito, Mun, Liang Han, Keith & Joseph in Kuala Selangor to celebrate Sito & Mun's birthday...

The handsome guy on my left wid green stripes t-shirt is Sito... the New Year's Eve birthday boi... and the cute guy on my right is Joseph. It is always nice to have Joseph around coz he knows where to find really good food...hehehehehehe

The one wid me now is Mun, the New Year birthday boi... Looking at his No. 9 t-shirt, we all know he is wishing to meet his No. 6 on his birthday...heheheeheheeeee... and we all know why he is No. 9 and not 6...heheheehehee

This was my first trip to K. Selangor, and none of us know the way there other than Liang Han & Joseph. As Joseph was going there directly from Klang, Sito, Keith and myself all went to Liang Han's place so we can sit sit in his new car to Kuala Selangor...hehehe

We didn't go to see kelip-kelip but went to a seafood restaurant called "Kampung Seafood Restaurant". Liang Han knows the place so well that we arrive there without much hassle...

It was good that we arrived early before that place got crowded...

These were what we ordered...

Steamed Lala (Clams) with Ginger and Brandy... very nice

HamDan (Salted Egg) Crab

Oooooo.... this is really lovely.... Fried Lai Liew Har with Creamy and Spicy Sauce... Can somebody please tell me what we call Lai Liew Har in English????? All I know is it belongs to the shellfish family...hehehehehe...

The creamy and spicy sauce is sooooooo delicious... I think I can finish a whole plate of rice juz with the sauce....hehehehehe

Mango Chicken... is nice but juz ordinary

Fried Prawns... fresh but also quite ordinary

Hmmmm... this is the speciality fish... it is hot and spicy... similar to Tom Yam but not very Tom Yam style....hehehehe.... This is absolutely delicious.

This fish came with a bowl of hot and spicy soup, which we are supposed to add in bit by bit while the fish is slowly heated up by the charcoal stove underneath...

While I was pouring in the soup... the tauke came and told me that the recipe of this dish is their family recipe of 3 generations worrrrrrrrrrr... hehehehehe....he oso told me the name of this dish for 5 times... but I still dun get it..... hahahahaha

I sooooo like tat charcoal stove...hehehehe... maybe my mind was thinking how I can ta-pao it back...geeeeeeeeeee

After dinner, went to the river bank to lepak-lepak ... and camwhoring by the river bank...

r

From left: Mun, myself, Joseph, Liang Han and Keith

Thanks guys for a wonderful evening.... thanks to Mun and Sito for dinner and thanks to Liang Han for driving us all the way there...

This bak chang is enuff for my bfast, lunch and dinner...gaaaaaa

I bought this gigantic bak chang from Saigon for my mum to try...hehehehehehehe. It is vacuum packed, so is easy to bring it back.

This morning she took it out from the fridge and used the rice cooker to steam it...hehehehehhee

The whole of my kitchen has that bamboo leaves fragrance when steaming it... very nice smell...hehehehehehe. The leaves used for wrapping of the bak chang are very huge leaves... oh oh... those poor giant bamboo trees in Saigon ... hmmmmm. Soon I think all those bamboo trees will all kena chopped for all those bak chang...gagagagaga

The fragrance from the bamboo leaves and the glutinious rice is a very good match..hehehe. I like it but it is a bit dissapointing that there is no salted egg yolk inside!!!!!! How can how can no egg yolk???????

 Nah...enjoy it ok!!!!!!!!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmpppppppppppppppp ;p;p;p;p;p

Saigon...

Oh ya... let me continue the cerita on my Saigon trip...geeeeee. Last Friday, 19th Sep 2008,  I left the office at 5pm on the dot...heeeee. Went back to the hotel and gobbled some snacks at the lounge. Then took the shuttle to the city centre again...hahahahaha. I want to look for that tour agent, Sinh Cafe on De Tham Road to book a tour to Cu Chi Tunnel, the famous Vietnamese war tunnel in the Cu Chi area. That tour agent is recommended by my friend.

The shuttle service as usual ends at Saigon Centre. I am lazy to walk and look for that place coz I am a bit tired...hehehehe....so I took a cab there...

The taxi driver can't speak a single word of English... so I have to show the name of the road to him...hehehehee. When I mention Sinh Cafe, he knows already...hehehehe.

The taxi is very nice leh, very comfy and complete wid in built tv screen... much more better than our KLIA limousine...geeeeee... but must choose the reputable taxi like Vinasun and Malinh. Taxi fare is also reasonable, usually starting around 14,000 dong at nite.

The taxi driver sent me right infront of Sinh Cafe. I went in an enquired about the tour. The tour to Cu Chi Tunnel is packaged together wid the tour to Cao Dai Temple and they are charging only 135,000 dong which is only around RM27.... So I booked for the Sunday tour and proceeded to the counter to pay.

After that, I walked around tat area which happens to be an area for backpackers. There are lots of shops selling handicraft and clothes. The shop opposite Sinh Cafe is where I bought some Vietnamese lanterns... hehehehehe. The girl in tat shop can speak English quite well but she is asking too much dong  for the lanterns...hehehehe. So I bargain bargain wid her...geeeeeee. So after the bargaining, she agreed to sell at 50,000 dong each...hehehehee. She said her business for the day is not good, so cheap cheap sell to me la...gagagaggagaa. She is very friendly ... and she is soo happy tat she sold 3 lanterns tat day....gaggagagagaa.

After walking around, I took a taxi back to Saigon Centre to catch the hotel shuttle back. After back to the hotel and took a shower, I was feeling a bit hungry... and tats when I saw a card in the room advertising the promotions for the month...geeeeeeeee.  I ordered this "Saigon Seafood Crispy Noodle"

Fresh and lovely seafoodddd..... yummyyyyyy

The next morning... yeah it was a Saturday morning... yes..again I took the hotel shuttle to city centre after breakfast in the hotel ... hehehehhee...  I went to the Reunification Palace. The last time I went it was at nite, so tat place is closed. So I went early this time to go in see see look look...heheeehehehhe.

Nothing much... juz an old building from outside...geeeeeeeeee

After visiting Reunification Palace, I went to Nhu Lan for lunch...geeeeee. Nhu Lan is famous for its crispy roast pork...ehehehehehheee

I ordered Com Thit Heo Nuong (Roast Pork Rice)....

This pork rice is accompanied by a bowl of mango fish sauce...hehehehe...weird and a bowl of soup which taste like ABC soup...

oso ordered a glass of passion fruit juice... very sour...geeeeeee

After lunch, I was walking towards Ben Tanh Market and saw a group of local people selling vietnamese oranges...hehehehe...

I wanted to try so I asked this old lady how many can I buy by showing her a 10,000 dong note....hehehehehee. She quickly grab 5 or 6 oranges and put into a plastic bag. I quickly told her I only need two (wid my sign language.......hahahaha... but I still pay her 10,000 dong la..

Then I asked her permision to snap a picture which she agreed and quickly wear her pointy hat back to pose for my camera...hahahahahhaaaa

Went to Ben Tanh Market after that, saw a lot of things I wanted to buy but I afraid it will exceed my baggage limit. Am not on EK, so no extra baggage allowance for me...hehehehehe.

Across the market, there is a huge park where the locals wil have their recreational activities in the morning and in the evening... I was exhausted wid all the walking, so I sat there for a while to rest... and I notice a fit guy wid a group of frens playing cock..............geeeeeeeee.... ok is shuttlecock....hehehehehehehehe

After resting for a while... I continue my walk back. Went back to the hotel, took a shower and went out to the KFC nearby to try out the Vietnamese KFC...geeeeeeeee

I like the KFC there... the chicken meat is more tender, juicier, less oil, less fat and less seasoning... The only thing I dun like is the bun which is a bit hard and dry...hehehehe

After enjoying the KFC... went back to the hotel to rest coz the next day have to wake up early for the Cao Dai Temple & Cu Chi Tunnel tour...hehheheehhehehehe

Sep. 24th, 2008

Back home...

Juz got back home last nite safely... Very tired... and today got to work...

Din hv time to post anything for the past few days since I went for 2 full day tours...geeeeeee. OK will post those pics once I settle everything...

(no subject)

Yesterday evening took the hotel shuttle to the city centre. The shuttle dropped me off at Saigon Centre. This is a shopping centre wid a luxury service aparment attached to it. This place really got nothing much to see but at the corner, there is this Terrace Cafe where it is listed as a cafe wid lots of young professional PLUs hehehe... Quite nice ambience, there were some good looking guys but to me, is juz a trendy cafe...hehehe. The other side, there is another bigger cafe, Highlands Coffee which I find got more gorgeous guys ...hehehehehe. Those guys came in nice nice attire in their bikes...hehehehehe, then got jockey infront of the cafe to help them park their motorbikes....hehehehehee....

Terrace Cafe @ Saigon Centre

The famous Ben Thanh Market is nearby, so I took a walk there... the market was close coz it was late in the evening, only the street stalls are open, selling some sort of like KL's Petaling Street stuff but in a smaller scale.

Then walked back to Saigon Centre side and went to Saigon Tax Centre where it is also a shopping mall. Nothing much also, shopping in Saigon is a bit dissapointing... so walked back to Saigon Centre again to catch the shuttel back to hotel...geeeeeeeee

Today, I took the hotel shuttle to the city centre again...hehehehehee. The shuttle passed by the Reunification Palace, the place where at least 3 million people are killed by Americans.

Reunification Palace (googled picture...hehehehee)

Took a walk around it and at the back, there is a sports complex wid tennis courts, swimming pool, gym etc etc and a puppet show place... Nearby to the sports complex there are a lot of old shops selling sports attire etc etc... There also a shop selling all sorts of helmets...hehehe... I mean for riding bikes...

and... I saw a helmet which I find it quite cute. I bought it for VND100,000... hahahahaha....juz for fun...gagagaga... The lady who sold it to me can't converse in English at all except telling me the price wid the calculator... when I try to bargain, she cant understand what I am saying...hehehehehehhee. Her fren who was chatting wid her can speak very good English, so she helped her to translate...hahahaha. She said the price given is a student's price...hahahahahaha. That lady keep talking to me in Vietnamese and her fren then translate into English for me which the lady said I look like a good student so she give me a very low price... and if non student, she will offer at least 150,000....hahahahaha.... student...hahahhaaa... good student summore...gagagagagagaga

I later checked another shop further down and they asked for 190,000.... hahahahhahahaa. So confirmed tat is student's price...gagagagagagggaaaa

This is the helmet... geeeeeeee

After that, took a cab to the Saigon Centre. One thing good about cabs here, there are plenty on the street. Those white colour with green phone numbers are very nice cabs. Very clean, spacious and they charge by meter. The charges is very reasonable.

Opposite of Saigon Centre there is this ice cream place where they sell mostly ice cream and cold drinks. Quite a lot of people.... they are occupying 2 corner lots opposite to each other... so it must be a popular plac
e for ice cream I guest.... The name of the shop is Kem Bach Dang ....

I ordered this coconut ice cream which is one of their specialities..hehehehee

I noticed that eating place in Vietnam usually serve you with this ice tea before taking your order... juz like those char chan teng in HK ... hehehehe. The tea is quite nice..

The ice cream is not bad... taste very much like homemade ice cream wid mild coconut flavour... It reminds me of the old Cheong Kee ice cream in Petaling Street. I dun think can find tat kind of ice cream in KL anymore...

Since this place dun serve other food, I went to Pho 2000 opposite Terrace Cafe for a bowl of pho. This time I tried the seafood pho... it was fantastic... I like it sooooo much...

I like the soup... not too spicy ... wid mild flavour of the herbs... and the seafoods are sooo fresh, juicy and sweet.. hmmmmmmm

This time they dun serve wid the taugeh, mint leaves etc etc... juz these...geeeeeee:

After tat pho.... just in time to catch the last shuttle service back to the hotel... hehehehhee... so save me at least 50, 000 dong...gagagagagaga :p:p:p
